Big Fish for December - PARVAAZ

“Ah, music," he said, wiping his eyes. "A magic beyond all we do here!”

Parvaaz, the amalgamation of vivid poetry and enchanting melody, is a Bangalore based Rock band. Parvaaz means ‘Flight’ or ‘Rising’.

Their music can be described as a tasteful blend of blues, elements of rock and the experience of psychedelia through Kashmiri and Urdu lyrics. The songs explore abstract experiences; ideas and also traditional literature through Kashmiri and Urdu poetry.

The band’s first EP, “BEHOSH” was released in July 2012, to become the top selling album/artist on “Ok Listen!”
The track “Behosh” topped the charts of India’s leading independent music website, NH7.
As a part of the EP launch, PARVAAZ completed a tour of India in 2012, covering cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune.

Parvaaz is currently working on a full-length studio album. A single “Khufiya Dastaan” was released recently to promote the upcoming album.

Parvaaz have also won a series of awards like the ICICI Z Aspire in 2010, Winner of the IIM B School of Rock. They were also one of the National Finalists at the Yamaha Asian Beat Competition and Nominee at Toto Awards.
