The concoction of Carnatic Classical and Progressive Rock music which takes one on an incredible voyage.. such is Agam. A Carnatic Progressive rock act from Bangalore.

 

 


ABOUT THE BAND

Agam is an independent rock act from Bangalore. AGAM is an ancient tamil word which means 'the inner self'.

Agam’s music galvanizes the vivacious inner-self. The mesmersing vocals with incredible bass and ethnic percussions are the indispensable essences of AGAM’s music.



Agam, the band was formed in 2003 and they got their major break in the year 2007 when they participated in a band hunt called “Ooh la la la,” hosted by a Tamil television channel. The competition was judged by A. R. Rahman. They have not only won multiple awards but also featured and performed in second season of Coke Studio (India) and collaborated with other musicians like Sandeep Vasishta, Shreya Ghoshal.

THEIR MUSIC



Their debut album "The Inner Self awakens” was released in October 2012 at Hard Rock Cafe, Bangalore. The album went on to become the top selling album on Flipkart's flyte as well as on Oklisten.com.


Agam composed this single featuring Shreya Ghoshal for “Project Ummeed”, an effort by Cancer Patient AID Association http://www.cpaaindia.org to spread awareness on breast cancer as part of this initiative all proceeds went to CPAA, helping them support and rehabilitate the victims. The deep guitar riffs, powerful vocals overlaid with intricate rhythm patterns in Agam's interpretation provides a distinct perspective on the flavor and intensity of Thyagaraja's spiritual pursuit.
